 They are excellent foragers, making them a great addition to any free-range flock. With their striking appearance, some resembling a Welsummer with a top-hat, others having beards and muffs with their exceptional egg-laying abilities. On average, Olive Eggers lay about 3-5 eggs per week, approxiately 150-200 eggs per year.
 They are a mixed breed chicken, a cross between a dark brown layer and a blue egg layer, resulting in a diverse range of egg colours in their offspring and also the possibility of speckling.
